Learn Japanese

Lots of titles to choose from here. Where to start? Beginners should stick with books that have "beginners" in the title (located on the General Guides shelf) -- in other words, no kanji! If you know a few words already, the Power Japanese series books have some great stuff. It never hurts to study hiragana (you should at least know how to write your own name) and katakana (for signs, and some basic reading). And eventually you'll need a dictionary/reference book, too.
